Posted: August 8, 2010 in Volunteer Meetings

Hi everyone!

So as promised, here’s the full recap (in pdf format, so you’ll need Adobe Reader) of the First Volunteer Meeting that was held on the 7th of August 2010.

First Volunteer Meeting Recap

The main things to take away from the meeting were:

– The first class is to be held on Sunday, 15th of August 2010, from 2 – 3 pm. So far, we have one member who has volunteered to teach for the first class. If anyone else is interested, please leave a comment here or email us. If you don’t have an email application installed that will automatically open up when you click that link, the email id is This class will take place in the A-Block Social Office (on the P3 level).

– A volunteer teacher training session will be held on Thursday, 12th of August 2010,  at 7 pm. It is expected to last for about an hour and all volunteers should attend. During this session, the lesson planning committee will brainstorm on how to conduct the first class, as well as the next few. This meeting will take place in the A-Block Social Office (on the P3 level).

If you have any additional suggestions or things to add to the issues discussed during this meeting, please feel free to leave a comment or email me! Suggestions are always welcome.

There is currently a lot of work for the Organizing Committee to do (which is essentially being done by Shilpa Vijay, myself, and Mrs. Mehta) in the run-up to the first class on the 15th of August – so if anyone would like to help us out and take responsibility for a few tasks, please let us know by sending an email to or leaving a comment here. You can check out the tasks in the First Volunteer Meeting Recap.
